Seed Spreading
WEN is partnering with the Friends of the Mississippi River for a seed spreading event on Thursday, May 14th from 6pm to 8pm at Orvin "Ole" Olson Park in North Minneapolis. The park is home to a surprising variety of landscapes, including riverfront shoreline, woodland terrace and now, thanks to FMR's volunteers and supporters, a restored prairie. A recent trail extension project created some bare ground within the park, and revegetation is needed.
All are welcome, but capacity is limited and registration is required. As always, all tools and training will be provided, and volunteers are encouraged to work at their own pace and comfort level. More detailed directions to the volunteer event site will be sent to registrants closer to the date of the event. Questions? Please email Carrie Pomeroy at cpomeroy@fmr.org.

In 2011, she launched Among the Wild, a film project that blended her love of adventure with her skills as a filmmaker. Over the next eight years, she and her team produced four independent films—The Arrowhead 135, Waterway Jay, Jeff’s World, and Ode to Minnesota—each celebrating local athletes in fierce pursuit of their sport and the spirit of wilderness adventure in her home state of Minnesota.
Today, Brenda works in marketing and communications, where she continues to draw on her storytelling background.
