WEN Film Festival

  • Utepils Brewing 225 Thomas Avenue North Minneapolis, MN, 55405 United States (map)

Join the Women's Environmental Network for an evening that celebrates the outdoors and adventure. At this event, you'll get a chance to watch short films by local legend Brenda Piekarski and ask her questions.

Born and raised in Minnesota, Brenda Piekarski is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast with more than 25 years of experience in the video and film industry. In 2011, she launched Among the Wild, a film project that blended her love of adventure with her skills as a filmmaker. Over the next eight years, she and her team produced four independent films—The Arrowhead 135, Waterway Jay, Jeff’s World, and Ode to Minnesota—each celebrating local athletes in fierce pursuit of their sport and the spirit of wilderness adventure in her home state of Minnesota.

Today, Brenda works in marketing and communications, where she continues to draw on her storytelling background. She remains passionate about creating narratives that connect people with nature and inspire everyday adventurers to step outside their comfort zones—often discovering new challenges and beauty right in their own backyard.

We can't wait for you to join us!
