Picture A Scientist Virtual Screening & Discussion

02/25/2021

6:30pm-8:00pm

Join in WEN in watching and discussing the award winning documentary Picture A Scientist!

PICTURE A SCIENTIST is a feature-length documentary film chronicling the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. A biologist, a chemist and a geologist lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, overcoming brutal harassment, institutional discrimination, and years of subtle slights to revolutionize the culture of science. From cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, we also encounter scientific luminaries who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equitable, and open to all.

How the virtual screening works:
Register for the virtual screening by February 16th. Once registration has closed, a link and password will be sent to your email. That link will take you to your personal virtual screening room. Details for follow-up discussion:
WEN will be hosting a follow-up discussion of the movie at 6:30 PM on February 25th via Zoom. This will be a great opportunity to meet other WEN members and network with the larger WEN community! More details to come!
