A Green Thumbs-Up for WEN's Planter Workshop!
What a wonderful evening it was at West Medicine Lake Park in Plymouth, where the Women's Environmental Network of Minnesota (WEN) and Natural Shore Technologies teamed up to host our "Nature in Your Hands: Make Your Own Planter" workshop! On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, passionate gardeners and curious newcomers alike gathered to connect with nature and with each other.
With expert guidance, we dove into the incredible world of Minnesota's native plants. We learned not only how to select the perfect local species for our planters but also how these amazing plants are the foundation of a healthy ecosystem, attracting vital pollinators and contributing to biodiversity. It was more than just a planting session; it was a hands-on lesson in how our small actions can have a big, positive impact on the environment. In addition, we had a fantastic learning experience about biochar!
The best part? Everyone went home with a beautiful, custom-made planter filled with native plants, and a newfound sense of purpose. This event was a perfect example of what WEN is all about: creating a community where we can learn, grow, and take action together to protect our environment.
Feeling inspired? This is just one of many events where we come together to make a difference.
